The theory of speech act is known as one of the most notable theories of impact in philosophy of language and language of religion. It has a considerable part in appearance, development and analysis of speech and, following it, in the roles of verbs and sentences; so that in many cases a verb does not carry ideas only but it is just the very action. The paper, using a descriptive analytical method, has studied speech actions of declarative and non-declarative sentences in some of Imam`s sermons and letters on the basis of Austin`s theory of speech action and Searle`s action model and explained the effective power of Imams speech on the addressees. As understood by the study, in most cases, utterances with declarative action have been used and, then, persuasive actions. Emotional and obligatory actions haven less. Such an application has been due to the political and social conditions during Imam`s rule.

Given translation and receiving meaning from a text as a systematic course, understanding and analyzing the meaning of its words would be known as the first stage in the field. In the stage, the changes occurred in words` structure would signify language dynamic state and, at the same time, its applicability appropriately. Current structure changes of the words of a language would produce various meanings leading to development of language and countless challenges of it in expressing one`s thought and ideas. Such being the case, a knowledge of impacts of the changes in its meaning domain and, consequently, perceiving exact meaning of the text would be taken as necessary in translation. In the paper, it has been intended to analyze some structural components of the words in the sermons of Nahj ul-Balaghah and to study the semantic changes of the components. As analysis of five translations of Nahj ul-Balaghah show, in some cases, the translators` lack of attention to the changes has led to incorrect translations.

Statistical stylistics helps researchers to decide and distinguish different styles. Research method of statistical style is based on quantitative norms and researchers should analyze the components on statistical data. In the paper, with a descriptive, analytical and statistical method, the sermon Gharra` is studies stylistically. As described in the paper, among figures of speech, balanced rhyme and symmetrical rhyme have been used in the sermon equally and more than other figures. Rhyme and parallelism, regarding their music, prepare the readers` mind to perceive the meaning; and among non-verbal figures, the figure of oxymoron has been used mostly. This figure helps the readers to pay attention to requisite denotation, remember the meanings and, consequently, perceive the meaning of the text well. As it seems, Imam`s purpose in using such figures lies in attracting the addressees` attentions to understand the speech better. Such a usage of the figures of speech in this sermon has put in a particular literature position for those learned in the field.

Terminologists and commentators of Nahj ul-Balaghah have viewed الحَسَنانِ, عِطفایَ and الغَنَمِ رَبیضَةِ as being of different meanings; as the viewed, الحَسَنانِ means the Imams Hasan and Hosein (a), the big toe, the upper arm and the forearm, and عِطفایَ two sides of shirt, human`s two flanks and two shoulders, and الغَنَمِ رَبیضَةِ little intelligence, intensity of enjoyment, lack of politeness and public overcrowding and referring to Imam (a) because of extreme injustice of the rulers. In the paper, all given meaning as well as the relevant objections have been critically studied. As viewed in the paper, الحَسَنانِ means two shoulders, upper arms or forearms, عطفایَ is preferred to mean human flanks and the last phrase to mean public overcrowding as showing their demand to Imam`s rule because of the extreme injustice current during the third caliphate.

The poor or fuqara has been one of the most notable social groups for Imam Ali (a). Addressing state officials and the public, Imam emphasizes on the poor, their rights and the necessity for supporting them. The notability of the paper is reflected to the question: which groups of the people have been known as the poor for Imam and what is the duty of the official men in relation to them? In the paper, the lexical points of the word فقیر in Nahj ul-Balaghah with regard to the relation of syntagmatic and paradigmatic has been studied. In Nahj ul-Balaghah, the word فقیر has been associated with such words and phrases as مسکین, أهل البؤسی, زمنی, قانع, معترّ, ضعیف, سائل, مدفوع, غارم, ابن سبیل and replaced with أهل الحاجة, محتاجین, أهل الفاقة, غَرثی and سَغَب. Therefore, it has been made clear that some kind of need may be found in all associated words with فقیر as there may be found different degrees of need in them. As understood by Imam`s speech, it is a necessary duty for all men of state and peoples to support the poor.

In changing society from current situation to an ideal one, realists follow current realities. Idealists, however, are faithful to their ideals in all conditions and count any withdrawal from their ideal positions as conservative. A third group may be found that in the case of inflict between ideals and real possibilities, act as a realist idealist and bring the real limitations into consideration. In the paper, it has been intended to explain Imam Ali`s approach in deposing and appointing the rulers with regard to the mentioned tendencies. His insistence on deposing Mu`wiyah and surviving Abu Musa Asha`ri may not be explained on the basis of pure realism and idealism. It may be reasonable only on the basis of realist idealism. Imam`s attention to different political and social conditions of kufa and sham from on hand and priority in deposing illegal rulers has led him to take the position.
