The unique method of compilation and the distinctive characteristics of Nahj al-Balaghah have provided an opportunity for certain individuals to challenge its authenticity, raise doubts about the text, and, in their view, undermine its credibility. In recent times, several doubts have emerged, often centered around seemingly contradictory statements attributed to Imam Ali (AS) within Nahj al-Balaghah. One of the primary areas of contention concerns the issue of the Imamate of Ali (AS), which skeptics have at times sought to affirm and at other times to deny. This article, employing a descriptive-analytical method, describes the perspectives of those who raise such conflicts and critically analyzes their claims. It further identifies and explains the origins of these perceived contradictions within the text of Nahj al-Balaghah, through both contextual and source analysis. According to the findings of this study, the sources of these conflicts include: misunderstanding the context of the Imam's (AS) words, extracting statements out of context, confusing the words of others with those of the Imam (AS), instances of taqiyyah (dissimulation), tasheef (errors in transcription or hadith correction), and the fabrication of hadiths.
